From author Sheila Aron:
I was watching the evening news one day and saw something tragic about a young girl who had committed a terrible crime. I wondered if this tragedy could have been avoided if someone had provided that child with a different foundation – a childhood that included hearing ‘I love you.’
And then it occurred to me: what if the people she yearned to get approval and support from didn’t know how to express love because they didn’t receive it as children?
That’s when I realized that, to help children through difficult times, adults had to be helped as well. I began to write I’m Glad I’m Me to show different opportunities in the course of a child’s day where parents could express their love. This book’s simple dialogue of unconditional love makes that important connection between a parent, grandparent or caring individual and child that instills love, belonging and confidence.
It is my hope that I’m Glad I’m Me will become a resource for child/parent development agencies and be provided to families struggling to communicate their feelings. It is also my hope that everyone who reads this book realizes the importance of sharing their love, the fulfillment that love brings, and the
valuable thread that it weaves throughout each of our lives and those of future generations.
-------------------------------------------------------
Love, like a thread, weaves and entwines. Love leaves memories that last
throughout time. Love, like a thread, is strong, unbreakable and never ending.
